I joined KC for FTNMP in june 2023. Films, television and new media production. I still fumble saying it.
I walked in thinking I was the smartest person in the room. I had already been editing for two years, I had my own laptop, I had a job. My classmates were asking how to open "this pc" and whether an iphone 12 pro could beat a camera.
I was wrong about them and it took me a while to work that out. That is A different story.
The first one I met was Hussain, who told me he edited, so I respected him a little. Then a guy in all black told me he had a camera. I said keep talking. He said he knew how to shoot. That was Manav, and finally there was someone in the room who was clearly better than me at something.

In july dhaval sir took us to IFP, a fifty hour filmmaking challenge. Twenty to twenty five people signed up. By the time it actually started there were five of us.
Hussain. Manav on camera. Rudra directing. Rohit. And me, doing something somewhere on set, I genuinely could not tell you what.
I made a group chat for it and called it Temporary Group, because it was going to be temporary. One film.
The film was bad. We never released it.

So we shot another. I edited this one. We called it Me, put it out in december 2023, and it has done about twenty three thousand views since.
The description under it says we were first year film students in Mumbai and this was our first short film. That is still my favourite thing about it.
Rudra directed. Manav shot it and coloured it. Rohit was assistant DOP. Hussain played the lead.
Psychological short film 'me', on Manav's channel.
Rohit needed to move equipment to a set once and I gave him my activa keys. Grey one, this is the number, it is parked downstairs, go.
It stopped on him halfway and he could not reach me. So he pushed it a kilometre, put a hundred rupees of petrol in it, which was all the money either of us had, and got it to the shoot.
He was furious when I got there. Your activa is so bad it does not even work, why do you not put petrol in it. I told him I filled the tank yesterday, how is that possible. He said I don't know man, it's ass.
I went to find it under the bridge where he said he parked it. Looked for fifteen minutes. Could not find it. Called him down to point it out.
He pointed at an activa that was not mine.
We had taken a stranger's activa, pushed it a kilometre, spent our last hundred rupees fuelling it, used it for a shoot, and parked it back on the same street.
We registered as Perspective Media LLP on the 24th of may. It was not a big moment internally, we had been working together for two years by then. Group had started sounding too corporate so we dropped it and kept perspective, because that is what we are. A group of people assembled per project.
Rudra is coo now. Manav is head of productions. Rohit still comes along for event coverage.
Hussain and I lost touch. I wish that ended differently.
