A good conversation should leave behind action

dictated, unscripted. lightly cleaned up.

When I speak with someone older, smarter, or more experienced about work, I keep a note-taker running—with their knowledge and consent.

Memory is a terrible project manager. A transcript lets an llm pull out decisions, names, links, follow-ups, and the exact sentence that changed the direction.

When someone shows me a profile, tool, or company, I save the link beside the transcript. Context without the source becomes difficult to use later.

The same habit feeds this website. I meet someone, take a selfie, write what stayed with me, and try to publish while the conversation is still alive.

Recording is not the outcome. Action is. The transcript should end as a task, a changed system, a blog, or a decision. Otherwise you only built a more searchable pile of conversations.
