time is not an entity to be filled

dictated, unscripted. lightly cleaned up. highlighted parts were extended by my editor-in-silicon and approved by me.

in the service industry i used to think of time as an entity that needs to be filled. now that i think about it, time is an entity that needs to be used wisely.

in my companies i made a stupid mistake: filling the roster with cheaper clients. so now we have decided to cut down on all of them. to increase our pricing, and to decrease the number of videos we ship per month.

over the last couple of months we shipped around 300 minutes of content per month on average. we're taking that down to 150. which means increasing the pricing for everyone.

an empty calendar scares a service founder more than a bad client does. it took me two years to learn the empty slot is the asset.
