You may be hiring the wrong job title

dictated, unscripted. lightly cleaned up.

When founders describe the “AI video editor” they need, half the job often sounds like graphic design.

The person is supposed to understand a visual brief, create frames, generate artwork, keep a style consistent, and then put those assets through a video model. Calling that person an editor makes the search narrower and more expensive.

Try hiring a graphic designer. Test ten to fifteen candidates with a small paid task. Once one understands the visual language, build a repeatable pipeline that turns approved frames into motion.

The setup is harder than throwing work at a new agency every week. The payoff is that the taste, context, prompts, and mistakes remain inside your team.

Job titles are not sacred. Describe the actual work, find the closest underlying craft, then automate the mechanical layer.
